Life Is A Puzzle

Maybe this concept has already been written about by well known authors and writers, but it has been an insightful revelation to me, and I want to write about it.

As we read in Ecclesiastes, life is made up of seasons. And just like life has seasons, there is a season for each piece of the puzzle of each of our lives (Ecclesiastes 3: 1–8). Just because one piece of the puzzle is not ‘in season,’ does not mean it won’t have its time or isn’t important.

If the puzzle of life is missing a piece (or more than one piece), that empty space may or may not need to be filled. If not, it may be because it simply isn’t time to fill that space. Even if the missing piece (or pieces) is known, if it doesn’t have the surrounding, supporting pieces to give it a frame and a structure, it will not belong and it will not have its rightful place, at least for the time being.

There are times when I focus so much on a specific puzzle piece of my life, but it doesn’t mean it is time for that piece to receive focus. If not, it simply means everything has a season. That puzzle piece has a perfectly whole and true purpose, but it simply may not be the right time, just like focusing on a piece that belongs in the middle of a puzzle — while all I have put together are the outside edges — will not work out because that particular puzzle piece doesn’t even have the framework or necessary…
