What’s Next?
This year, 2020, has brought the world, the country, the nation and each one of us…a lot. Some good, some bad.
If you’re like me, you notice how it might feel like most of what this year has brought is bad because of what’s always all over the news and social media. Neither of which I give a lot of attention to, for this reason.
Some might think to themselves, after all this year has brought so far,
What’s next?
What new catastrophe will happen? What issue will resurface next? What else will I have to add to my bag of burdens to carry? As if the pain, the suffering, the disease, the unease and the unrest never ends. When one thing finally ends, something else comes up. I know some are all too familiar with this mentality. This…reality.
But…what if we flipped our perspective? I’m not here to say we should be “inside outside, upright downright happy all the time,” and ignoring the gravity of tragedy and sadness, because there is also a place to grieve. There is a season for mourning, a time for grief and a rightful place and purpose for all of it.
But I’m reminded of Job. His life was…hellish in some seasons, full of hardship, suffering, mourning and even being angry at God. But his faith was so solid, so unwavering and so undefiled by the astronomical suffering he experienced…and endured. He…
